At least eight people sustained injuries in an accident involving a matatu in the Gitaru area, Kikuyu subcounty, along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Monday evening
Kikuyu area deputy OCPD Evans Mose confirmed the accident.
He said the driver of the matatu heading to Naivasha from Nairobi lost control of the vehicle and hit a barrier in the Gitaru area, resulting in the accident.
Speaking to the Star, Mose said that no fatalities were reported.
The injured individuals were taken to Thogoto Mission Hospital for immediate medical attention, the police boss said.
Mose urged drivers to prioritise road safety measures and vigilance while plying various routes across the country.
Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
