Corridors understands after the widow refused to sell, official has now reportedly resorted to crude means to force her to surrender the land adjacent to his. He has reportedly sent a surveyor to intimidate the widow who has reserved the parcel as her children’s inheritance. The helpless woman is pleading for help for fear of losing her property.

A first-term governor who was ranked favourably in a recent opinion poll on county chiefs’ performance is the talk of the town. Reportedly, two days before release of the poll results last week, the county boss supposedly personally called all the journalists in town, asking them to cover the event. It was not known how the man, known for his deep pockets, had predicted his ‘good ranking’ in the polls to mobilise the media, even before the results were released. But your guess is as good as ours.

There is disquiet among staff of a foreign embassy in Nairobi. Why? Those in the know say their ‘know-it-all’ ambassador has reportedly introduced some controversial changes that will hurt the pockets of local employees. They claim morale is low with the cost of living increasing. Staff who have worked at the embassy for years are wondering what is prompting their boss to make such moves. They say even previous envoys did not introduce such policies.

As his colleagues trooped to their constituencies and others flew abroad for vacation after a marathon session, a second-term lawmaker has ‘refused’ to leave Parliament Buildings. For nearly a month since the House broke for recess, the MP has reportedly been to Parliament everyday. He spends his time alone in the members’ cafeteria. When bored, he goes to his office or attends as a spectator any House committee that happens to be in session. It’s not clear why he is idling in Parliament but some say he’s too broke to travel after all that campaign spending.
