Police are looking for a gang behind the murder of a night guard at a bar in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet.
The gang went to Mollel Lounge and Grill Hotel along the Tambach-Iten main road, hit and killed the guard on duty on Monday morning before gaining access there.
Police said after killing Mathew Kemboi, 40, they gained entry into the bar where they stole three TV sets and assorted alcoholic drinks mainly wines among other items.
Police said the gang escaped the scene moments later using a waiting saloon car. A hunt on them is ongoing, police said.
The officers said the deceased guard had multiple deep cuts on the head.
A sharply pointed knife, black cap, and metal rod were recovered at the scene as the body was moved to the mortuary pending further probe.

The incident happened on Monday morning in the Tendere area where the man and woman were found fighting.
The body of the lady was found in her house with a stab wound in her neck.
It is suspected the man had visited her house before his other girlfriend followed him prompting a fatal fight.
