Cattle rustlers in Tiaty Constituency have been put on notice as the government continues to fight crime in Baringo County.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki on Friday said that criminals attacking residents and police will not be spared.
" Ule jambazi mkora atajaribu kutumia silaha kujaribu kuumiza afisa wa usalama huyu ni ile safari wa one way. Safari ya kuenda bila kurudi," he said.
This loosely translates to: Those criminals who will dare to use weapons against our security officers. We will have them on the one-way journey. The Journey where there is no return.
"We will not allow our police officers to be killed by thieves," Kindiki emphasized.
Going further, the Interior CS said he will operationalize three divisions in Tiaty Constituency in a bid to curb criminal activities in the area.
"I want to announce what will do in one month. We shall install a new division called Silale, a second one called Akwichatis and another one called Orus," Kindiki added.
He said his office would provide funds where necessary to set up offices at the divisions and that he would personally commission them on behalf of President William Ruto.
The government has intensified the fight against banditry and livestock theft in the country.
Kindiki emphasized that the days of armed criminals terrorising people with impunity are long gone.
"The Government of Kenya under the leadership of President William Ruto will fulfil all its pledges and we are determined to end permanently, the shame of cattle rustling and banditry," he said.
In addition, Kindiki pledged Sh2 million towards helping Akwichatis Primary School which had earlier been destroyed by criminals.
"The funds will go towards purchasing school items ( beds and mattresses) for children at Akwichatis primary school next week," he added.
