Kitui Governor Julius Malombe, has reaffirmed his commitment to a collaboration with the Judiciary to ensure residents access justice.
The governor spoke on Thursday when he hosted members of the Judiciary Service Commission in his office. The team was on a tour of courts in Kitui county.
The delegation included Macharia Njeru, an Advocate of the High Court and Justice Mohamed Warsame and Justice David Majanja.
Malombe said synergy between the county government and the Judiciary was necessary, and that both institutions shared a common interest of serving the people of Kenya.
A couple of months ago, his administration allocated a two-acre plot to the Judiciary for putting up of public utilities to boost accessibility of judicial services.
He underscored the important role played by the JSC of ensuring the promotion and facilitation of an independent and accountable Judiciary.
The governor further said the JSC had so far ensured efficient, effective and transparent administration of Justice in Kenya.
He additionally hailed the Judiciary for cultivating public trust and confidence among Kenyans over the years.
Justice Majanja said the Judiciary was delivering services premised on the chief Justice Martha Koome’s vision for a people-centred justice in Kenya
He said ultimately, the Judiciary was expected to secure social transformation through access to justice for all.
Justice Warsame said the JSC was on a countrywide tour to meet court users and interact and listen to their experiences. He said the commission was keen to uphold an accountable judicial system.
Kitui High Court judge, Robert Limo, said the Judiciary was working towards ensuring every constituency in Kenya had a court for access to justice to all.
