The ruling United Democratic Alliance has announced positions up for grabs in the December 9, grassroots elections.
In a notice, secretary general Cleophas Malala said the elections will be held at the polling centres, wards, Constituencies and County levels. This, he said, is in adherence to the UDA party constitution.
Malala said those interested in vying for the positions should submit their applications by November 2, 2023.
He said applications will be done via the UDA Election portal.
"All officials must be life members of the party before assuming office," he said.
At the County Congress, it will comprise 20 Constituency Committee members who will be drawn from each constituency from the county as well as the elected county leaders of the party in the county.
These will include Governors, their deputies, Senators and Woman Representatives.
The County Congress will elect 13 officials who will include a chairperson and a deputy chairperson, secretary and deputy secretary, and a treasurer.
It will also comprise of an organising secretary, Youth, Women, Persons with Disabilities, MSMEs, farmers, religious groups and professional groups representatives.
The County Congress will also comprise of seven members with at least three from either gender.
The same structure will be replicated at the Constituency Congress which will comprise members of 20 members from the Ward Committee and elected Member(s) of National Assembly of the party.
The Ward Congress will have 20 polling Centre Committee members drawn from each polling centre in the ward, as well as elected leader(s) of the party in the ward. They will elect 13 officials among themselves plus seven others.
The 20 polling Centre Committee members will be elected by all party members.
They will include three members from the religious groups, four representing Micro, Small, Medium and large enterprises and three representatives of professional groups.
Four other members will represent youth, three farmers representatives, one special interest groups representative as well as two other members, one from each gender.
The 20 will elect 13 members from among themselves to form the Polling Centre Executive Committees.
The announcement by Malala comes a few days after the party held its National Governing Convention where key among the resolutions made was to hold grassroots elections.
The party was formed ahead of the 2022 general elections and its officeholders were picked by the party leadership.
