President William Ruto on Sunday is set to visit Migori country.
His day will start at around 9 am when he will be commissioning Uriri Hospital, Uriri Constituency.
The Head of State will then attend a church service at Uriri Technical Training Institute.
Without rest, President Ruto will thereafter hold a meeting with farmers at Sony Sugar in Awendo Constituency.
Later in the afternoon, Ruto will also preside over the launch construction of affordable housing, Kuria West Constituency.
President William Ruto has geared up for a comprehensive development tour of the Nyanza region, which started on Friday, October 6, 2023.
His primary objective is to secure backing from counties that have historically supported Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.
His earlier visit to Nyanza region was marred by controversy when certain leaders failed to accompany him to a church service, citing lack of invitation as the cause.
However, this visit was different whereby he was warmly welcomed by Governors from the region.
ODM Governors James Orengo ( Siaya), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) and Anyang' Nyong'o (Kisumu) even accompanied President Ruto to launch various projects and speak to residents in various places.
Nyanza is perceived as ODM leader Raila Odinga's stronghold as he normally gets overwhelming support in presidential elections.
But the President has embarked on an extensive development tour and insisted that each region is part of the government.
This would be the second major and extensive development tour of the four Luo Nyanza counties since his election last year.
The first of such a high-level tour was in January when he traversed Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay and Siaya counties, commissioning development projects.
The President will commission projects touching on various sectors including agriculture, MSME development, housing and settlement, universal health coverage and the Digital superhighway and creative economy.
On Saturday, Ruto spent his day in Homa Bay county.
He launched the construction of the Mfangano Island Ring Road in Suba North Constituency
In June, Cabinet Secretary for Roads Kipchumba Murkomen said the road had been earmarked for tarmacking as the Kenya Kwanza government aims to improve road infrastructure in Nyanza to open and promote tourism in the region.
Homa Bay has the longest shoreline of Lake Victoria and more than six islands with sandy beaches.
President Ruto visited the Victory Fish Farm, Suba South Constituency and also launched the tarmacking of the Sindo-Karungu-Mbita Road in the same area.
Ruto who is also the United Democratic Alliance party leader opened UDA office in Homa Bay Town and commissioned the rehabilitation of Homa Bay Pier.
