Former Interior CS Fred Matiangi is expected to appear before a parliamentary committee on education and governance on Wednesday.

He will appear over the closure of campuses operated by public universities outside the country during his tenure when he served as the CS for Education from 2015 to 2017.

At the same time, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and his Sports counterpart Ababu Namwamba will also appear before the plenary of the Senate to respond to various questions from members.

CS Kuria to hand over 

Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria will on Wednesday hand over the docket to his successor a week after he was moved to the Ministry of Public Service.

Immediate former East African Community Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano is set to assume the role.

The Ministry of Trade is housed at the NSSF building.

Ruto to preside over passing out of 2,600 forest rangers

President William Ruto will on Wednesday preside over the passing out ceremony for the newest cohort of forest rangers.

The pass-out parade will be conducted at the Forest Law Enforcement Academy at the National Youth Service paramilitary academy in Gilgil, Nakuru county.

 2,664 recruits have undergone six months of paramilitary training, and are now competent and ready for deployment to various duty stations.

Judgment day for PS Korir in wife beating case

A Nairobi court will today deliver judgment in a case where Water and Sanitation Principal Secretary Julius Korir was charged with assaulting his wife.

Korir was accused of assaulting and causing bodily harm to Evelyne Koech at their home in Karen, Nairobi in 2020.

Four counties to experience power interruptions 

Four counties are expected to experience power interruptions on Wednesday.

Kenya Power announced that the interruptions will happen at diverse times of the day in the different counties.

The counties affected include Nairobi, Bomet, Trans Nzoia and Nyeri counties.

Theft case against suspended KEBS boss proceeds for hearing

The hearing of the theft charges against suspended Kenya Bureau of Standards boss Bernard Njiraini proceeds today for hearing.

Njiraini was charged with theft, conspiracy to commit a felony, abuse of office and interference with goods subject to customs control, among other counts.

He was charged alongside Kenya Revenue Authority deputy commissioner Joseph Kaguru, KRA staffer Derrick Kago, Peter Njoroge Mwangi and Crispus Waithaka Macharia, a shipping agent at the Port of Mombasa.
