The Ministry of Interior will unveil the names of the 35 most wanted terror suspects.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said that the 35 are said to be the masterminds of the terror network responsible for the deadly terrorist attacks in Lamu County and the Boni Enclave generally.

The CS announced that the names and photos of the suspects will be circulated in mainstream media and published in local dailies.

"The suspects, whose photographs will be circulated in the mainstream print media and posted on official online platforms of the Interior Ministry and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) tomorrow 18th October 2023,” Kindiki said in a Statement.

The Interior boss however ordered the suspects to surrender to any Police Station within the Republic of Kenya immediately before tomorrow.

The 35 terrorists being sought are said to be connected with the placement of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on various earth roads and the killing of civilians along the Lamu-Witu-Garsen Highway.

They are also behind the cold-blooded murders of civilians at Lango la Simba, Witu, Mpeketoni, Juhudi, Salama, Hindi, and other areas and the attack on the American Millitary Base at Manda Bay on January 5, 2020.

As a result, Security and Intelligence agencies are appealing to the public to volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of the 35 suspects.

Kindiki said a substantial cash reward is on offer to any person who provides credible information leading to the arrest of any of the suspects.

While the arrest or neutralization of these terrorists remains the most immediate objective, the CS assures that other measures and strategies have been put in place to win the war against terror in Lamu County, the Boni Enclave and across the country.
