Teenager slashed to death in argument over sugarcane in Kuresoi

Police are investigating the death of a teenage boy who succumbed to injuries he sustained in a fight over a piece of sugarcane in the Kapno area, Kuresoi, Nakuru County.

The 15-year-old boy died in hospital following a cut he sustained in the head in a fight with a 17-year-old teenager.

Witnesses said the two had argued over a piece of sugarcane before the 17-year-old cut him in the head using a panga.

He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed on Wednesday, police said.

A team of detectives visited the scene on Wednesday and recovered the panga that was used in the attack on the deceased boy.

The said assailant is missing and efforts to trace him are ongoing. Police said the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Police say they are also looking for a man who killed another in an argument over an injured dog in Mau Summit area, Nakuru County.

According to police, a man hit and killed another one in a quarrel over a dog.

Kennedy Too died in hospital following a hit on his head.

This is after he had kicked a dog that was crossing the road near where he was.

The owner of the dog Wesley Bett, 27, was angered and hit him on the forehead using a stick, a witness said.

According to police, Too collapsed and was rushed to Neema Medical Center and was later referred to Eldama Ravine Subcounty Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The assailant is at large and efforts to trace him are ongoing, police said.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the murder of a supermarket worker in Eldoret Town.

The body of Patrick Getuma, 32, was found on a footpath on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at the Kipkaren-West Indies bridge.

Police said preliminary findings show the attendant was murdered.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.

In Embu, police said they are investigating the murder of a 56-year-old woman.

Police said the incident happened in Karaba Market, Mbeere South.

Her husband is the suspected assailant and is yet to be arrested over the Wednesday incident, police said.

The woman was strangled and hit with a blunt object. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
