Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has sent a message of comfort to the Bondo United football club following a Sunday morning road accident.
In a statement, Raila said he is praying for the injured players' quick recovery.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured Bondo United players as they recover from today's accident near Kericho while en route to Naivasha for a football match," Raila said.
The club's players and technical team were involved in an accident as they travelled for Sunday's fixture against Sunderland Naivasha in a crucial FKF Division 1 Zone B match.
A communication on the club's Facebook page said the injured players were rushed to Fort Ternan hospital for medical attention.
"Injured players are getting medical assistance at Fort Ternan hospital . No fatal casualties Lord of second chances, thank you once again."
Siaya Governor James Orengo also wished the players quick recovery.
"To the injured Bondo United players you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you recover from the accident you had today around Kericho on your way to Naivasha for a football match," he said in his message on X.
Bondo United FC is a Siaya based club that plays in Kenya's Division one league.
