President William Ruto on Wednesday joined Kenyans in mourning the death of musician Ally B.

Ally B was announced dead on Wednesday.

The Mombasa-based musician is famously known for his hit songs including ‘Maria’ and ‘Bembea’.

The President described him as a musician who fostered unity in the community.

"I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society," Ruto said.

"Ali Khamisi Mwanguli inscribed his message of peace deep within our hearts, and we will forever carry that meaningful tune. May God provide solace to his family, friends and devoted fans."

Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi also mourned Ally B as a talented artist.

"I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ally B, who passed on today in Mombasa. Ally B was a talented artiste whose music featured prominently in the entertainment landscape both at the Coast, across Kenya and beyond our borders."

"We have lost a young and dynamic youth who was an inspiration to many upcoming artists. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
