Kakamega deputy governor Ayub Savula has asked his political nemesis to leave his family alone and face him instead.

Savula said that a gang of over 50 men armed with machetes and Rungu’s invaded his mother’s home last weekend and slashed a dog to death before living.

He said that the attack followed his utterances during a funeral in Kabsabet.

“Last weekend I spoke my mind during a funeral and went to Kisumu to meet Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe. I received a call from my mother at midnight wailing that her compound had been invaded by 50 people armed with machetes. They cut a dog into pieces and left without stealing anything,” he said.

“Why does someone want kill an innocent pastor. Come and face me if it is political and I will deal with you squarely. Deal with me and spare my mother and his bible,” he said.

He said that the attack was reported to the Lumakanda police station.

He asked Inspector General of police to ensure thorough investigations into the matter.

Savula dismissed the version being advanced by police that those who stormed his mother’s compound were cattle rustlers who wanted to steal a cow as nonsense.

Savula said that he explained what happened to him from the days he used to work with President  William Ruto, then deputy president,  and how he was coerced to join Azimio and how I was arrested.

He said that he also talked about the high cost of living and unity of the country during the funeral.

“I will not be intimidated. I will continue addressing issues affect Kenyans without fear. I’m sure the attack is linked to what I said in Kabsabet. If they want to kill me, its okay but let them leave my mother and the bible aside,” he said.

Savula said that there is need for a national dialogue on the cost of living as these are the key issues affecting Kenyans.

“We want to assist the president with solutions on how to tackle the high cost of living through a honest national discourse. We know that there’s a deal between the president and Azimio leader Raila Odinga. The deal should focus on how to unify country and the skyrocketing cost of living,” he said.
