The hearing of a case in which the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is seeking to recover over Sh147 million from former Kiambu county boss Ferdinand Waititu and others is set to proceed today.

The case is scheduled to proceed before Justice Esther Maina.

EACC seeks to recover the monies paid to Testimony for a road tender on claims it constitutes the proceeds of corrupt conduct.

The Tender was for upgrading various gravel roads in Thika, Limuru, Gatudnu North, Juja and Ruiru sub-counties during the financial year 2017 to 2018.

Separately, Fifteen police officers accused of being behind the disappearance of two Indians and their Kenyan taxi driver have been released on a Sh1 million cash bail by Kahawa Law Court.

The officers drawn from SSU, DCI, NIS and KWS were arraigned at Kahawa on October 17 during which they denied seventeen counts of offences.

The offences ranged from abduction to commit murder, cooperation in the execution of cruel treatment, conspiracy to commit a felony, and forgery among others.

The charge sheet states that on July 22 and 23 in Nairobi, the accused persons while on board in motor vehicles, trailed and intercepted a motor vehicle that Mohammed who is an Indian national was in with intent to abduct

The seven faced another count of abducting Nicodemus Mwange who was driving the said motor vehicle to be wrongfully abducted or put in danger of being murdered on the same dates and place.
