Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot now claims that President William Ruto saying that he is looking for jobs, for Kenyans abroad is dishonest.

In a statement on Wednesday, Aukot said this is because Ruto is busy promoting the climate agenda abroad, which according to him will block industrialisation in Kenya.

He went on to say most Asian countries created industries that created jobs for their youths.

He said this is the move that has led nations such as China to prosperity.

"Our Kenya's economy is in a mess. President William Ruto is busy promoting the climate agenda for the US, UK, and the EU, which is designed to block industrialisation in Kenya. Looking for jobs for Kenyans in Europe is dishonest.

"China and most of Asia succeeded by creating industries that produced jobs for their youth that lead to prosperity. They did not go looking for menial jobs in Europe," Aukot said.

The lawyer insisted that Kenya must start creating opportunities for its youth if it wants to develop, and that will not happen through seeking menial jobs abroad.

Aukot added that the current situation in the country is tragic and that if the country continues with borrowing from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the coming generations will spend their lifetime paying for the loans, instead of growing the economy.

"Kenya must start creating opportunities for its youth in order to grow. Borrowing more loans from the IMF means that the next generation of Kenyans will spend their lifetime paying debts with no growth in the economy. This is absolutely tragic."

His remarks come a few days after President Ruto announced that the country is looking into sending at least 5,000 Kenyans weekly to work internationally.

The head of state said, together with Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore, the country will sign a bilateral labour agreement to export Kenyans to work abroad.

"We want to send 3,000 or 5,000 Kenyans abroad weekly. This way, they'll be able to send money home, be able to depend on themselves and also contribute towards the betterment of the country," Ruto said.

Ruto added that with the trips he is making, he has been able to work around and discuss how Kenyans can benefit and work abroad.

"When I go for foreign trips, I don't go for the purpose of tourism but for the benefit of Kenyans, as that is why I was elected," he noted.

"I was in Saudi Arabia last week for matters Kenya's development, Germany's president was here some three months ago and promised up to 200,000 job opportunities for Kenyans, and so did the president of France, I must follow up on those opportunities."
