A long-serving senator shocked his colleagues when he went out of his way to support a former governor who is currently a top office bearer in the Kenya Kwanza administration. The pioneer county chief is on the spot for allegedly embezzling millions of shillings during his tenure. But the senator, who had earlier told a Parliamentary watchdog committee that the current governor inherited empty coffers after his successor allegedly embezzled the funds, surprisingly came to the defence of the ex-governor. The senator’s change of position left his colleagues wondering whether he was part of the heist cast for the last 10 years.

Still in Parliament, a first term senator has raised eyebrows by openly supporting a witness who had appeared before a committee. The said lawmaker is often ridiculed by colleagues for his wanting mastery of the Queen's language. His open antics in supporting a witness, caught the attention of the members of the oversight committee. He had to be asked if he was still a lawmaker or if he had become part of the Executive. After fiercely supporting the witness, the man walked out of the committee with the gait of someone who had accomplished a herculean task and now awaiting a reward.

Some MPs are not happy with their colleagues who were members of a critical committee. The disgruntled lawmakers say their colleagues "gave to much concession" to their opponents. They say their opponents could use some of the goodies secured to advance their 2027 political ambitions. They insist non of the current members of the committee should be anywhere near the yet to be formed implementation panel.

Residents of an estate at the border of Nairobi and Machakos counties are a troubled lot. A key road in the area has remained in bad shape over the years, and the ongoing rains has made the situation unbearable. They said an allocation was made to rehabilitate the road and a contractor commenced work but disappeared soon after, leaving the road with huge potholes and drifts. When their problem was recently highlighted on TV, the contractor reappeared but the caterpillars and tippers, again, disappeared before work started.
