Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot now says that President William Ruto has no time to implement his agenda for the country.

Speaking on Thursday, Aukot said this is because the President has been busy campaigning.

He claimed that Ruto has been continuously campaigning since 2012 when he vied as former President Uhuru Kenyatta's deputy.

Aukot insisted that because of the campaigning, President Ruto had no time to spare for the implementation of the Kenya Kwanza manifesto or any serious government policies.

He added that Ruto seems too occupied with attempts to legitimise himself and this has had even the people who voted for him doubting if he actually won the August 2022 presidential elections.

"President William Ruto has not stopped campaigning from 2012 up to today. He is still campaigning. We've seen him go back to the road. He no longer sits down to actually implement 'The Plan' (Kenya Kwanza manifesto) or the policies of the government.

"The reason Ruto is on the road is because he is trying to legitimize himself and for many people who voted for him including myself, we are now asking ourselves hard questions. Did he actually win? What is this attempt to legitimise yourself? Why don't you just implement policies," Aukot said.

The Thirdway Alliance party leader's remarks come a few days after he said that President Ruto had shown that he was not confident that he won the 2022 presidential poll.

Aukot who was reacting to some of the recommendations by the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) in their final report claimed they mutilated the Constitution.

He said the Committee had also undermined the Supreme Court's decision on last year's presidential elections by agreeing to audit the results as demanded by the Opposition.

"The #Bomas bi-partisan talks and their #NADCO report mutilates the constitution by suggesting the office of the Opposition leader, and they have agreed to undermine the Supreme Court verdict by agreeing to look into the 2022 election. President William Ruto is not confident he won the 2022 elections!" Aukot said.

After details of the report were made public by the NADCO, Ruto pledged to fully implement the recommendations.
