Raging floods have killed six more people, raising the death toll across the country to 142 as of December 2, Government Spokesman Isaac Mwaura confirmed.

The six, three of them children, died in Tana River, Taita Taveta, Machakos and Kisumu.

Residents in Voi Town have been marooned by rising waters after Voi River burst its banks on Monday morning. 

Kenya Red Cross says it's on-site conducting search and rescue operations for families marooned by rising waters. 

Voi River breaking its banks comes barely a month after rivers Ruvu and Njoro broke their banks due to heavy downpours.
