Anti-corruption court will today give a ruling in the Sh8 million graft case against former Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong.

Ojaamong will appear before Milimani Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Eunice Nyutu who will deliver the ruling.

Last month the parties appeared in court to make their submissions in the case.

Ojaamong was charged with abuse of office and economic crimes with allegations of irregular procurement of a waste management feasibility project in Busia during the 2013/14 Financial Year.

The case is close to its judgement after Ojamong already defended himself against the allegations.

Nuru Okanga to appear in court for his pretrial

At the same time, an ODM supporter Nuru Maloba Okanga who is accused of insulting President William Ruto on social media will appear in court for his pretrial.

Okanga is accused that on November 20, 2023, at an unknown place within the country, jointly with others not before the court, used YouTube Account/Channel RIBA NEWS @ribanews to publish the alleged information. 

The prosecution said he published abusive information knowing it to be false and calculated to discredit the reputation of a state officer and with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

He is out on a cash bail of Sh10,000.
