 A woman has been charged at a Kibera court for allegedly beating a man on claims he cut a clothesline that she had reserved for her clothes.

Lydia Kerubo was charged with beating up Jackson Maingi on November 10 around 0600 hours at Kibra Laini Saba area within Nairobi County.

The complainant is said to have run for his safety after the ordeal and later reported the matter to the police which led to the arrest and arraignment of the accused person.

She however denied the charges before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Margret  Murage where she was released on bond.

Court prosecutor Allan Mogere did not object to her release on bond.

The magistrate directed that the accused person be released on Sh20,000 cash bail with the surety of the same amount.

She also directed that the accused person be supplied with all the witness statements and documentary evidence that the prosecution intended to rely on during the entire trial.
