Former TV news anchor Jackie Maribe has expressed her dissatisfaction with the postponement of judgment in the murder of late businesswoman Monica Kimani to January 26, 2024.

Taking to her Instagram account, a post she has since deleted, Maribe said she was fed up with the delays on the matter.

"It needs to stop. For five years I have respected the court, but this is too much. Justice delayed is justice denied. Stop putting people's lives in limbo. I'm tired of this," she said.

On Friday, the court postponed the verdict delivery to January 26, 2024, the second time that the parties have sat for a judgment only for it to be taken to a later date.

The first time the Judge was indisposed.

Lady Justice Grace Nzioka said she received the exhibits which are crucial in helping her determine the case as late as, Thursday, December 14 at 7 O'clock.

"I took time to write the judgment. We've made progress. But on Monday I discovered that when the file was sent to me not all exhibits were sent to me," the judge said.

She explained that even after making requests for the exhibits to be sent on Monday, she received them on Thursday, and they came in three sacks.

Before the new dates were settled her ex-fiance Jowie Irungu, who is the first accused in the case, pleaded with the court to grant him an earlier date, December 21.

Maribe requested a date in January.

The parties subsequently agreed to have the judgment delivered on January 26.

The family of Monica Kimani expressed disappointment in the rescheduling saying it represented a delay in delivery of justice.

Maribe and Jowie are facing charges related to Kimani's murder. The latter's body was found at her residence in Lamuria Gardens Apartment, in Kilimani, Nairobi.

The prosecution called 35 witnesses who testified against the two.

Kimani was brutally killed in 2018.
