Nancy Indoveria Kigunzu, popularly known as Mathe Wa Ngara has been granted a cash bail of Sh1 million following her arrest and subsequent arraignment in court for trafficking drugs worth Sh18.3 million.
She has been in remand since August after a court in JKIA denied her bail.
Aggrieved, Nancy through her advocate Danstan Omari appealed to the High Court.
Justice Diana Kavedza in allowing her application directed that she deposit her passport in court.
She granted her a bond of Sh3 million with 1 surety and a cash bail of Sh1 million.
Two weeks after her arrest, Nancy was denied bail on grounds that she was a flight risk due to her alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
She had filed the bond application because she allegedly had an underlying medical condition that required constant monitoring and medication, further asserting that if she was denied bail, her condition would worsen.
