Ann Adhiambo Ouma, alias 'Nut', the woman accused of killing former Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo will be back in court today for pretrial directions in the murder case.

Ann will appear before Kibera High Court where Justice Diana Kavedza is expected to give directions on the commencement of trial.

In November, Ann made a U-turn and pleaded not guilty to murder charges barely two weeks after she had entered a plea of guilty at the High Court in Milimani.

Her bond terms have not yet been canvassed as the prosecution and the defence have differed on her exact age.

The state had produced an age assessment report and mental assessment, which the court used to proceed with the matter.

On October 12, 2023, the suspect underwent an age assessment establishing that she was not a minor.

She underwent an age and mental assessment test at Mathari Hospital and was found to be of sound mind and fit to stand trial.

Ann is accused of killing Maigo who was found murdered in his home on Friday, September 15, 2023, in Woodley Estate within the Kibra constituency.

A post-mortem conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor showed he died of excessive internal and external bleeding having been stabbed 25 times.

Elsewhere, the Sh588 million corruption case against former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu resumes at the magistrate's court in Nairobi.
