A man who allegedly grabbed a businessman’s throat, squeezed it and used violence to rob him of some 20 pieces of bread valued at Sh11,00, his ATM card and some cash has been charged in court.
Omar Mustafa Salim was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Samson Temu where he denied the charges.
The court heard that the accused person allegedly attacked and robbed Collins Makana of the said items on January 14 in the Makina area in Kibera Sub-County within Nairobi County.
He also stole the complainant’s ID card, the court heard.
The victim was doing his business around a Nursing Home Hospital when he was allegedly accosted by the accused persons.
He denied the charges and pleaded for a lenient bond term.
The prosecution did not object to his release on bond and told the court that it was ready to supply the accused person with all the witness statements and documentary evidence that the prosecution would rely on during the entire trial.
The magistrate directed that a pre-bail report be filed in court and the matter be mentioned on February 2 for further directions.
