Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has transferred 12 county commissioners to new stations and recalled five others to the ministry headquarters.
In a statement on Thursday, the Interior Cabinet Secretary said this is to enhance service delivery within the National Government Administration cadres.
Regional Commissioners will continue serving in their current stations, so are 24 other county commissioners not affected by the reorganisation.
"Deployment has been re-organised as follows to take effect on 1st February 1, 2024," he said.
Abdirisack Jaldesa has been moved from Mombasa to Nyandarua and will be replaced by Mohamed Nur who has been moved from Tana River.
Erastus Mbui has been transferred from Kitui to Laikipia and will be replaced by Kipchumba Rutto who has been moved from Busia.
Henry Wafula has been moved from Samburu to Makueni and replaced with Onesmus Kyatha who has been transferred from Nyamira.
Patrick Mukuria has been moved from Murang’a to Kisii and has been replaced with Joshua Nkanatha who until the transfers served as the Kiambu County Commissioner.
Hiram Kahiro has been moved from Ministry Headquarters at Harambee House to Kwale, while Apollo Okello has been transferred from West Pokot and made the Personal Assistant to Rift Valley Regional Commissioner.
Others affected in the reshuffle are Susan Waweru who has been moved from Nairobi to Siaya and Jacob Ouma who has been transferred from Turkana to Meru.
Turkana has Julius Kavita as the new commissioner following his promotion from Deputy County Commissioner, Kirinyaga Central.
Meanwhile, Kindiki appointed Njenga Miiri as the Principal Administrative Secretary in the Internal Security docket to replace Wilson Njenga who retired at the end of 2023.
Jacob Narengo who previously served as secretary, Peace Building, has been appointed secretary, Internal Security while immediate former Nyandarua County Commissioner, Mohamed Barre, was recalled and appointed to replace him.
Others recalled alongside Barre are Joseph Kanyiri (Laikipia) replaced by Erastus Mbui; Isaac Masinde (Narok) replaced by Reuben Lotiatia; Tom Anjere (Kisii) replaced by Patrick Mukuria; and Jude Wesonga (Kajiado) replaced by James Taari.
David Wanyonyi has been promoted from deputy county commissioner (DCC) and moved from Mathira East to Nairobi as county commissioner.
David Koskei, the immediate former Masinga DCC, has been promoted and made new Tana River county commissioner.
Immediate former Mt Elgon DCC, Reuben Lotiatia, has also been promoted and made the new Narok county commissioner while Mwachaunga Chaunga has been elevated from DCC Turkana West to Busia county commissioner.
