Villagers at Riangombe Nene area at Amariba in Kisii say they stumbled on suspected sex-enhancing drugs in the house where a Pentecostal cleric allegedly defiled an eight-year-old minor Sunday morning.

The Nyamabundo PAG cleric identified as Duke is said to have gone into hiding with detectives already hot in his pursuit.

The mother of the minor said she had sent the grade four daughter to deliver breakfast to the Man of the Cloth when moments later she returned sobbing.

She reported to her being dragged by the pastor to his bed where he defiled her repeatedly.

"She returned crying home saying the pastor did bad things to her before wiping her private parts with a wet cloth and gave her Sh5  to buy her silence," the mother narrated.

The church is located around two kilometres from the minor's home.

Police from Kiogoro had since picked up the towel and the black tea taken to him as exhibits.

The incident sparked widespread rage with villagers turning up with machetes to lynch him but found him already gone.

John Moracha, a villager, told the Star on Monday that a packet of blue pills suspected to be that of viagra were found in the house of the amorous cleric lived.

"It appears he was waiting for some date when the minor showed up in the residence," Moracha told the Star Monday afternoon.

He said they had all along suspected the pastor to be up to no good.

"We have heard rumours that he was fond of harassing girls around but we did not have concrete evidence until this incident occured," he told the Star

Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases said an extensive manhunt is going on for him adding that he would soon be in custody to answer for his actions.

"I don't want to divulge much but more is going behind the scenes to bring him to custody. He may run but won't hide for good, "he stated.
