West Ham player Kalvin Phillips, who was recently signed on loan from Manchester City, has stunned Kenyans after he picked Kenya as his favourite holiday destination.

In a quick-fire question with West Ham, Phillips mentioned Kenya as a go-to country on a holiday.

"What is your favourite holiday destination?" the interview on the video asked.

Phillips answered, "Kenya".

Reacting to the video, the Kenya Tourism Board welcomed him and asked the player to tag along with his friends.

"Hey Kalvin Phillips, come kick it in Kenya again sometime soon, and bring the whole West Ham team with you!" the Kenya Tourism Board said.

On January 26, West Ham signed the Manchester City midfielder on loan for the rest of the season.

Phillips signed a six-year contract when he joined City from Leeds United in a £45m deal in July 2022.

"There's so much to look forward to in the second half of the season for the club and I can't wait to be part of it," said Phillips.

"There's an unbelievable group here and if I can come in and add the quality that I know I'm capable of, I'm sure we can give the West Ham fans plenty to be excited about between now and the end of the season."

Phillips made just two starts and 16 total Premier League appearances in his 18 months at City as he struggled for game time under manager Pep Guardiola.

Several other clubs, including Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Juventus, had also expressed an interest in him.
