Three men charged with publication of false information

Three Kenyans of Asian and Arab descent have been charged with publication of false information.

Arjun Chauhan Surya and Aftab Afzal Abass were arraigned in Milimani Law Court on Monday where the charge was read to them.

The first accused Ajamal Amershi Karim was not in court.

Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe heard that the man was unwell and admitted to the hospital.

The prosecution stated the particulars of the case as that on January 22, 2024, the men published false information likely to discredit the reputation of the subject.

The information was hitting out at one Emraan Khosla.

The second and third accused pleaded not guilty and requested reasonable bond terms.

The state did not oppose the prayer.

The court released the accused persons on Sh200,000 bond with an alternative of Sh100,000 cash bail.

The mention is set for February 12.
