Kitutu Chache North MP Japhet Nyakundi Tuesday called for reconciliation between South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro and County Governor Simba Arati.

Nyakundi said neither side appears to be winning in the ongoing conflict and thus the need for the two to reach out to each other and address the animosity which continues to spark fights among local youth.

He said Arati, being the senior leader should lead in the reconciliation efforts.

Nyakundi is described as a scar of shame the skirmishes that have been evidenced in several parts of Kisii in the recent past.

The skirmishes, he said, trace their origin to the animosity between him and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro.

"Lives have been lost, women are suffering. I call especially the governor to find a way to address the hooliganism and insecurity which is denting the image of the region," he said.

There had been about six deaths so far as the two leaders continued to trade accusations.

Arati has since accused Osoro of wanting to bring his leadership down by frustrating his development bid.

Osoro on the other hand accuses the governor of sponsoring the chaos.

On Tuesday, Nyakundi who is also the national UDA national party treasurer said only through peace and tolerance can Kisii grow.

"Both must be acknowledged that neither side is winning and thus need that they quickly resolve their differences.

" They must put an end to the dramas we are seeing around," Nyakundi told journalists at the Masakwe area in his constituency.

The MP was receiving bursary application forms from various villages.

He observed that already the strained relationship between the two was stifling development and thus the need that their differences were thrashed out as soon as possible.

"We are headed in the wrong direction if what we are witnessing is any indication of where we are heading as a community," the MP stated.

He told Arati and Osoro to respect the electorate and change their antagonistic approach to save the county from lagging in development.

Simba and Osoro’s disagreements continued to play out at public meetings when supporters from both sides clashed resulting in injuries to the residents.

Efforts to reconcile them have so far flopped.
