Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has been ranked as the top CS with the most number of local activities in 2023.

A Tifa survey released on Wednesday shows that Kindiki had 192 local engagements last year.

Out of this, 74 of the activities were within Nairobi county

The Interior CS was followed by Florence Bore (Labour) with 185 activities and Zachary Njeru (Water) had 165 engagements.

The poll revealed that in 2023, there were 2,741 activities analyzed by Cabinet Secretaries, out of these, 203 were foreign travel and the rest local activities.

At the same time, Cabinet Secretaries Alfred Mutua (Tourism) and Aden Duale (Defence) were ranked as the CSs with the least number of engagements locally in 2023.

Mutua had only 23 local activities with 17 in Nairobi, Duale had 62 (44 in Nairobi) while Ezekiel Machogu (Education) had 72 where 44 were outside the capital.

The Tifa survey further showed that Kindiki led with the most number of visits in counties.

In 2023, Kindiki visited 41 counties out of 47.

CS Bore followed closely with 36 counties and Water CS visited 27 counties.

The period of the Tifa polls analysis is from January to December 2023.

The scope of activities analyzed covers those published on online news platforms, the ministry’s social media pages and cabinet secretaries’ social media pages.

In its December 2023 polls, Tifa indicated that Kindiki was leading in visiting the counties because he mainly deals with internal matters.

"I don't think he can understand security issues if he sits in the office," Tifa lead researcher Tom Wolf said on Kindiki.
