In courts today

The High Court is today expected to hear a case in which a City Advocate is seeking to stop the LSK elections.

Advocate Shadrack Wambui wants the elections stopped after he was locked out from participating in them.

He is seeking the Nairobi Representative position which is slated for 29 February.

In his papers, Shadrack has argued that the LSK's decision to lock him out of the elections was unlawful and if the court doesn't intervene, then his case would be rendered useless.

LSK election board locked Wambui out of the elections because one of the Lawyers who nominated him practices in Mombasa and not Nairobi.

But Wambui argues the reasoning of the board cannot stand as the Lawyer who nominated him has an office at AGIP House Nairobi.

Police officer to be sentenced

A police officer found guilty of colluding with a thug to rob a cashier over Sh15 million at gunpoint is to be sentenced today.

Milimani Magistrate Benard Ochoi on January 29 convicted Corporal George Onyango Mtere attached to Ruiru Police Station.

He found him and his Co-accused Bernard Ogutu guilty of the charge of robbery with violence.

The incident is said to have happened at Mistsumi Business Park in Parklands.
