The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced the steps to be followed during the application of a duplicate logbook.

NTSA said that the applicants are required to have a police abstract, an affidavit and a tape lift report.

In the first step, the applicant is supposed to log in to the e-Citizen account and then select NTSA Service Portal (New).

The applicant should further select motor vehicle services and click on view.

"The second step requires the applicant to go to the duplicate logbook and then click on next, after selecting the reason for the duplicate logbook and then attach the required document in one PDF format; this will give you the option to select logbook counter collection office," the authority said.

The final steps require you to enter the details of the authorized person to collect, then click search.

The applicant is therefore required to scroll down and tick the declaration box then click preview and lastly submit to pay for duplicate logbook and click complete.

According to a statement on their X account, NTSA said that the applicants are required to pay Sh2,550 and are reminded to collect their logbooks after 3 working days.

''Collect your logbook after 3 working days," NTSA said.

NTSA further explained how the Copy of Records can be applied.

Copy of Records is a document that contains detailed information on the motor vehicle.

NTSA stated the details include chassis and engine number, details of the registered owner, make and model of the motor vehicle year of manufacture, date of registration and the caveat status.

NTSA listed the requirements that a client needs to follow and thereafter pay Sh550 immediately after the application.

''Login into the  E-citizen account, select NTSA service portal (new), go to services, then click on motor vehicles copy of records, Enter the registration or chassis number, search then submit, select the payment mode and click complete. Lastly, go to the history of the application and click on view to download motor vehicle of records," the authority stated.
