Amos Rono who was dumped by lover on wedding day speaks.

In December 2023, a man from Bomet, Amos Rono suffered heartbreak hours before his wedding after his fiancée dumped him.

The news spread fast on social media and Kenyans received him with warm hearts.

Amos Rono found solace from friends and family and bounced back a strong man.

Speaking on Wednesday, Rono said that he could be celebrating Valentine's Day with her lover if the wedding would have sailed through.

He, however, said that lovers should be patient with each other by lowering demands during the Valentine's celebration.

Rono said that lovers should not engage in violence just because they have not been treated to something during Valentine's.

"I was heartbroken, but I am here, I have taken it all in stride. If I had not had enough support I probably would have taken my own life. I am a living example of never giving up in life and focusing on the greater good despite the circumstances," he told NTV.

Rono said that currently, he is not in the market and he is concentrating on his financial stability before making a move.

"When I get a permanent job then I will start looking for a partner but at the moment I am looking for a permanent job."

After the incident, Rono met Kericho Governor Erick Mutai at his office who offered emotional support.

Bonfire Adventures also stepped in and sponsored him with a four-day Coastal trip.

In a post on his official social media pages, Mutai shared photos of them having a “man-to-man talk” with him at his office.

"Following the unexpected turn of events for Amos ahead of his big day, I extended an invite to the gentleman, " Mutai said.

The county boss went on to state that after the meeting, he left him with a word of God.

"Besides the support that I extended to my brother, I left him with the word of God in the book of Psalms 34: 18 which reads: 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit'," he added.
