World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum is to be buried at his farm near Naiberi in Uasin Gishu County today. President William Ruto is set to attend.

World Athletics head Sebastian Coe is also expected to be among the mourners in the nation's athletics heartland.

The father of two veered off the road and hit a tree on February 11, just months after shattering the marathon record in Chicago in October.

He ran the distance in two hours and 35 seconds, slicing 34 seconds off the previous fastest time, set by his Kenyan rival, the marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge.

Nairobi South residents to hold demos over grabbed market

In a similar period last year, it posted a net profit of Sh3.26 billion.

Court to hear case on constitutionality of Social Health Insurance Fund

Court to hear a case challenging the constitutionality of the Social Health Insurance Fund.

MPs want the case challenging the new public health insurance to be referred to Chief Justice Martha Koome. They want the CJ to constitute and appoint a bench to hear and determine the matter.

The National Assembly says an uneven number of judges being not less than three should determine the matter owing to the pertinent constitutional questions it raises.

Court to rule whether Gakuyo will be detained

The court will rule on whether Ekeza Sacco Founder David Gakuyo will be detained for four days pending a probe on fraud allegations.

Gakuyo who was arrested on Wednesday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was presented before a Magistrate Court at the Milimani Laws Courts in Nairobi on Thursday.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said it was investigating a conspiracy to commit a felony, obtaining money by false pretences, stealing, and money laundering involving over Sh1 billion.

DCI sought four additional days to complete its investigation
