A Christian nightclub in the US is causing a media craze for throwing monthly non-alcoholic DJ parties designed to help young adults make new friends while having fun.

The nightclub dubbed The Cove is located in Nashville, Tennessee, United States.

It threw its first party in November 2023, followed by a second in December and a third in February.

“What began as a simple idea in our basement has blossomed into something truly remarkable here in Nashville. The journey so far has been nothing short of astounding, and we’re deeply grateful for the support that has propelled us forward,” the club says on its Instagram page ‘thecovenash’.

“This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where this adventure takes us. Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey!”

Videos shared on the page show young people dancing to Christian rap music. The club says drinking, smoking and twerking are not allowed.

“Our next event is March 16th! The theme is March Madness so come in your favourite jersey,” a caption on one of the videos says.

The news resonated with the youth and attracted a huge response from users with some who felt the idea “sounds pretty cool”.

“I’m moving to Nashville,” one said. “I'm gonna pick up all my nieces and nephews in their 20s, and just drop them off here,” added another.

A reveller interviewed on one of the videos said she met a new friend during the New Year party on her first visit to the club.

“I’m here with my friend whom I met at the last event. We just clicked immediately, I came here by myself and then I saw her and we started talking and we clicked immediately,” she said.

“This is what it’s all about,” The Cove said in response to the revelation.

According to information posted on the nightclub’s Instagram page, the idea was mooted on the realization that a lot of young adult Christians feel left out by their peers.

It said the whole point is to let young Christian adults and the world at large know that it is not boring to be a Christian.

They said they sought to dispel the myth that it’s impossible to party and have fun as a Christian without falling into sin.

“That is why we started our Christian Nightclub in Nashville! It’s a space where you can ditch the isolation, meet cool people, and build some real connections.”

The club management said the Bible calls Christians to be above reproach and stay on the thin and narrow and this can sometimes be isolating and lonely for most Christians, especially young adults.

“However, as clearly stated in 1 John 1:7 'If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another'”
