Britam wins best life insurance company award

Britam’s Head of Financial Advisors Network Joseph Waithaka, Group Managing Director Tom Gitogo, and Britam Life General Manager Business Development Dennis Mworia celebrate winning the Life Company of the Year Award 2023 for the 17th consecutive year at the Annual Association of Kenya Insurers Awards 2023.

Britam Life Assurance Company has been honored with the Life Insurance Company of the Year Award at the 2023 Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) annual awards, marking the 17th consecutive win.

They also secured the Agent of the Year award for the second year in a row.

The AKI awards recognize outstanding performance by insurance companies and financial advisors/agents.

The Life Assurance company also received the Most Improved Company in Group Life award and achieved 2nd Runner-up in the Innovation Award.

Britam General Insurance Company secured the 1st runners-up position for the General Insurance Company of the Year award.

A total of 250 financial advisors from Britam Life Assurance and 95 from Britam General Insurance met the criteria for participation in the AKI awards.

Among them, Ruth Mumbe Nyingi received four individual awards, including Agent of the Year for the second consecutive year, the AKI Lifetime Award, and the 1st runner-up position in the highest number of policies award.

Out of the top 50 for Individual Agents Persistency Award, 19 were Britam agents, and in the Top 10 in Persistency category, six were from Britam, with Britam securing 1st and 2nd runners-up positions in the same persistency category.

Commenting on this achievement, Britam's Group managing director and CEO, Tom Gitogo, credited the company's success to its five-year customer-centric strategic plan.

Gitogo highlighted Britam's dedication to enhancing customer value and experience, expanding its customer base, and improving efficiencies for better returns.

"In line with our commitment to safeguarding the dreams and aspirations of our customers, our focus remains on creating value through enhanced customer experiences and innovative solutions tailored to their real needs," Gitogo said.

He also emphasized Britam's top-notch financial advisor distribution network and focus on digitization as key drivers of customer satisfaction and advisor empowerment.

In addition, Britam’s Florence Wairagu won the Premium Volume Award for Domestic Insurance, while Gladys Hope Mumbi achieved success in the Overall Premium Volume Award for New Business at the awards ceremony.
