ODM has announced grassroots elections in nine counties starting April 27, the party's Central Management Committee has said.
"The Committee has resolved to start the party's grassroots elections on April 27," ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna said.
The meeting was chaired by Raila Odinga on Wednesday and resolved to hold elections in Kwale Busia and Siaya counties on April 27.
The party will then hold a similar exercise in Kajiado, Migori and Wajir on April 29.
On April 30, the party will conclude the first phase of the exercise with elections in Kisii, Vihiga and Murang'a counties.
Sifuna who read the statement at Capitol Hill Square said the party will, in the due course, release the elections schedule for the remaining 38 counties.
The party has also scheduled a NEC meeting on April 11, to ratify the National Steering Committee which will oversee the exercise.
"Thereafter, we shall have an NGC before April 27 to ratify the decision of the NEC," Sifuna added.
The meeting was also attended by among others deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya, national chairman John Mbadi, Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Minority Whip Junet Mohamed, ODM executive Director Oduor Ong'wen, Party's Treasurer Timothy Bosire and Women League President Beth Syengo.
