Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) are a group of conditions that one sustains after being exposed to alcohol during pregnancy.

These effects can include physical problems and problems with behaviour and learning after tchild is born.

All types of alcohol are equally harmful, including all wines and beer.

A child affected with FASD might have:

  • Low body weight
  • Poor coordination
  • Hyperactive behaviour
  • Difficulty with attention
  • Poor memory
  • Difficulty in school (especially with math)
  • Learning disabilities
  • Speech and language delays
