Over 23,000 Wings to Fly, Elimu Scholarship beneficiaries undergo mentorship

A total of 23,101 Form 3 and 4 beneficiaries of the Wings to Fly and Elimu scholarship programs assembled in 18 regions nationwide for a 3-day mentorship and leadership development congress.

The congress-themed ‘Educate, Empower, Lead: The Triad to Success' was hosted by Equity Group Foundation.

It is the 15th Annual Education and Leadership Congress.

Over 1,000 beneficiaries of them, from different parts of the Kakamega region, gathered at Kakamega High School.

"You have been given the wings to fly to wherever your hard work will lead you. Don’t forget where you came from; it’s the only way you can change your community’s situation,” said Moses Buriri, the Assistant County Director of Education for Kakamega during the event held on Thursday, April 25.

David Ngata, Equity Group Director Finance, during a similar event in Central Region, said:

"Appreciate the lessons you have learned; remember the challenges you have overcome, the sacrifices you have made, and the support you have received from your loved ones, teachers, mentors, and the community at large."

The Central event was held on Friday, April 26.

1,644 beneficiaries of the programs from different parts of the Rift Valley region gathered at Nakuru Boys High School on Saturday, April 27.

The congress left the scholars inspired and ready to make a positive impact in their communities.
