Preparations are in high gear as the United States awaits to welcome President William Ruto.

US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman and Kenya's outgoing Ambassador to the US Lazarus Amayo were among the officials that arrived at the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International to receive the president.

Ahead of his arrival, there was a beehive of activities at the airport as the secret service from the US government was ensuring that everything was in order.

Meetings were being held right left and centre as the team awaited for the plane carrying the president to touch down on US soil.

The president is expected to visit the Carter Presidential Library and Museum as his first stop for the day.

He will then visit Ebenezer Baptist Church to pay homage to the Civil Rights struggle and emphasize how religion can be a force for good.
