The Kenya National Highways Authority has embarked on a week-long exercise to clear traders off road reserves in the Lower Eastern Region.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Authority said the public has responded positively with many traders voluntarily relocating.
Traders will be cleared from road reserves along Katumani-Machakos, Machakos-Kangundo, and Kangundo-Kamulu roads, KeNHA said.
The Authority said the exercise will be extended throughout the entire regional network in the coming days.
KeNHA said they are working in collaboration with the Axle Load Enforcement and Highway Unit, the National Government Administrative Officers and Machakos County Government.
