President's office advertises 4 vacancies for audit committee

The Office of the President has declared vacancies for the position of chairperson and members of the ministerial audit committee.

In a notice on Tuesday's issue of My Gov, head of public service Felix Koskei said the chairperson must have a degree from a recognised university in the country.

He or she should have specialised in the fields of accounting, finance, auditing, economics and risk management.

The chairperson should have experience of at least seven years and be a member of a professional body preferably ICPAK or IIA (K) and in good standing.

Additionally, one ought to comply with the requirements of Chapter Six, have proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, and be a present or past employee or agent of the Executive.

He or she should have over ten years of experience at a senior management level in a reputable organisation and know about public service or government operations.

Koskei is also looking for three members for the audit committee. 

He stated that the members shall be appointed for a term of three years and eligible for re-appointment which will be subject to satisfactory performance.

Further, allowances will be prescribed from time to time by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission on account of attendance of audit committee meetings. 

Koskei urged all interested applicants who qualify to submit manual applications.

"All applications should be submitted together with a detailed CV, a copy of national ID, copies of academic certificates, testimonials or any other relevant supporting documents," he added.

The applications should be submitted in a sealed envelope marked: "Application for the position of Chairperson or Member - Executive office of the President, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Audit Committee.".

They can be delivered to the Executive Office of the President, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, PO BOX 40530-00100, Nairobi or hand delivered to Harambee House 3rd floor.

"All applications should reach the office on or before Monday, June 10, 2024, latest 5 pm (East African Time)," Koskei said.
