A Nairobi court will today mention a case against former National Museums boss Mzalendo Kibunja and four others charged with embezzling public funds to the tune of Sh441 million.

The case is coming for a pre-trial conference before the Milimani Anti-corruption Court.

Mzalendo, Stanvas Ongalo, Oliver Rabuor, Wycliffe Ongata and Oscar Mwaura are set to appear before Magistrate Victor Wakumile.

According to the prosecution, the monies were public funds fraudulently paid as salaries and gratuities to persons purportedly employed by the National Museums of Kenya.

Stanvas is the Director of Human Resources and Administration, Oliver is the Payroll ICT officer and Wycliffe is a payroll accountant.

A Nairobi court will also hear a case in which former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner Davis Nathan Chelogoi is alleged to have conspired to defraud a businessman's 7.39 hectares parcel of land at Lower Kabete worth Sh1.35 billion.

Chelogoi has been charged alongside the deputy land registrar Andrew Aseri Kirungu with conspiracy to defraud Ashok Rupshi and Hitenkumar Amritlal Raja of their parcel of land valued at Sh1,350,000,000.

The two are out on cash bail.
