Over the weekend, political temperatures hit the ceiling for select politicians especially from the Rift Valley region.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said it was wrong for elected leaders to waste time moving from one county to another politicking instead of serving those who elected them and helping in the implementation of the Kenya Kwanza Administration’s agenda.

“I urge the MPs to stay in their Constituency and serve their people. The habit of political tourism must stop. This is what is giving us trouble,” he said.

The Deputy President said the focus should only be on ensuring the President’s agenda is fully rolled out for the benefit of the people.

His remarks have elicited responses from leaders in the Rift Valley region who insist that they will not stop supporting those in need.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi is one such leader who has openly defied the DP’s request to the leaders.

This comes in the wake of an alleged division in the rift over support for Gachagua.

The Star sought the views of Kenyan on Gachagua’s remarks on the call by the DP.
