President William Ruto has said the African continent will win big following the partnership to produce Samsung phones locally.

The President said Korea should take advantage of the raw materials and human capital available in African countries including Kenya.

"It would be a win-win outcome if Samsung can produce their telephones in Kenya using geothermal energy from our resources with Kenyan young people working in those industries while using raw materials of minerals and exporting it globally," the President said.

The president is in Seoul to attend the inaugural Korea Africa Summit.

He added that that kind of collaboration would not only be a win for Africa and Samsung but a win for climate as well because of the utilisation of green energy.

Ruto said such partnerships will have a great outcome where Korea will produce sustainably green products using African resources and their technology.

"There is a need to be a convergence between the renewable energy potential we have in our continent, the enormous raw materials and resources we have in Africa and the huge human capital to be able to converge with the technology and capital available in countries like Korea," he said.

During the summit, the President drummed up support for the African countries.

He underscored the critical role Korea can play in the transformation of the continent.

Ruto said Africa is keen on exploring robust partnerships with Korean investors.

This, he said, will help turn Africa’s enormous potential into opportunity and investment that will create jobs and foster economic growth.

“This summit demonstrates a resolve to elevate this relationship and mobilise the political will needed for Africa and Korea to prosper together through mutually beneficial collaborations," President Ruto said.

"To do this, we must leverage on our complementarities and implement win-win strategies on the basis of equal partnership,” Ruto said.

He highlighted Africa’s untapped potential, including its dynamic and skilled youthful population, vast arable land, abundant renewable energy resources and valuable mineral wealth.

The President pointed out that these assets remain largely unexploited.

The Seoul summit marks a significant step toward strengthening ties between Africa and Korea.

The continent is in pursuit of mutually beneficial collaborations with Korean investors.
