Poll: 63% of Kenyans feel country headed in wrong direction

This is according to the new Infotrak report released on Thursday.

Sixty-three per cent of Kenyans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.

This is according to the new Infotrak report released on Thursday.

Some 19 per cent of the respondents think the country is on the right track.

Sixteen per cent think the country is neither in the right nor wrong direction.

Only two per cent of Kenyans do not have a pick on which way the country is headed.

The number of Kenyans thinking Kenya is headed in the wrong direction has increased by 10 per cent since September 2023.

The majority of Nairobians think Kenya is not on the right track. This is translated to 74 per cent.

They are followed by Eastern residents with 69 per cent, Nyanza residents translating to 68 per cent, Western with 64 per cent and Central people being 63 per cent.

Sixty-one per cent of Coast residents think the country is headed in the wrong direction with 54 per cent in Rift Valley and 47 per cent in North Eastern region.

Infotrak shows that seven per cent of Nairobians think the country is on the right track.

Twenty-three per cent of Rift Valley residents think the country is headed in the right direction.

The other regions include North Eastern (22 per cent), Coast and Western regions (21 per cent), Central (20 per cent), Eastern (17 per cent) and Nyanza with 16 per cent.

The survey was conducted between May 23 to 29 among 1,700 respondents aged above 18 years.

The margin error is +/-2.53 per cent at 95 per cent degree of confidence.

The poll was conducted through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) in all 47 counties and eight regions of Kenya.
