Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has revealed some of the members of a team formed to address grievances raised by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Uhuru on Monday claimed that he had been denied some of his benefits as stipulated by the Retirement Benefits Acts.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, the CS said the team could not be put together before, because "some of the issues are not normal policy issues".

"The home of the retired president is going to be a gazetted government office. It is not the normal thing to do," he said.

Kuria revealed that the team members include Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, him and Police IG Japhet Koome.

The team is chaired by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

"The President has put together a team comprising of CS for interior, the Inspector General of police and myself," he said.

During the interview, the CS noted that the President briefed them on the concerns Uhuru raised.

He said Uhuru raised concerns with the number of security assigned to him saying they were not enough to protect him and his properties in Nairobi, Kiambu and Nakuru.

Sources say President Ruto has already instructed the Police IG to address the issue related to his security.

The Head of Public Service has been tasked with ensuring that complaints related to Uhuru's staff are addressed.

The President said he held a phone conversation with his predecessor during which they discussed complaints he had raised.

The phone conversation came after Uhuru's spokesperson Kanze Dena, on Monday, addressed the media accusing the government of failing to honour the Retirement Benefits Act.
