Former Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia midfielder Collins Okoth alias Gatusso is expected to be charged with murder in a Nairobi court today.

Okoth was arrested in April and detained at the Pangani police station following the tragic death of a three-year-old girl whose body was found dumped behind their apartment.

The girl lived with her mother on the ground floor.

Meanwhile, the murder trial hearing of the case against former Eastleigh-based cop Rashid Ahmed will continue today before Justice Diana Kavedza at the Kibera High Court.

The defence team led by lawyer Danstan Omari is today expected to cross-examine former Pangani OCS Lucas Ongaya.

Rashid served under Ongaya when he is alleged to have shot dead two teenagers in Eastleigh in 2017.

Ongaya, now the Njiru subcounty police superintendent yesterday testified that Rashid was part of a nine-member police team that mostly operated at night.

He said the team, code-named Pangani 9 was mostly on duty at night between March and April that year.

In another case at the Milimani criminal magistrates court, a ruling is expected on whether private detective Jane Mugo has a case to answer in a matter where she is charged with threatening to kill a businessman.
