Governor Johnson Sakaja's adminstration has moved to restore order following a meeting with boda boda operators in Nairobi.

The meeting which was chaired by Security and Compliance Chief Officer Tony Kimani on Thursday sought to iron out issues or concerns and set rules that will regulate the business in the CBD.

"Today we met to discuss the best way forward and enhance efficiency in the CBD. This demonstrates Sakaja's unwavering determination to bring order to the bodaboda sector within the Central Business District (CBD) and the entire city," Kimani said.

The meeting outlined a series of new regulations aimed at enhancing safety and streamlining operations.

During the meeting, it was agreed that CBD bodaboda operators must have branded reflectors, according to Sacco's name.

They will also have individual personal numbers for easy identification of legitimate members amongst riders, security marshals and motorbike users.

This will enable easy identification of operators and tame cases of insecurity and rid the CBD of crooks.

The bodaboda saccos present expressed gratitude to the leadership of Governor Sakaja for the goodwill given to them to operate within CBD.

They pledged their readiness to cooperate with the City Authority to ensure the smooth running of the business.

This move by the Nairobi city county administration is a significant step towards tackling the challenges often associated with bodabodas in urban areas, aiming to improve public safety and create a more orderly flow of traffic within the city.
