WhatsApp, an application that is under the parent company Meta, has released a new upgrade that will enable users to send voice messages that disappear after they’re opened.

"We’re always looking for ways to give you more privacy. View once now lets you send voice messages that disappear after they’re opened," WhatsApp said.

A video animation shared by WhatsApp showed how the user can go about sending voice messages that disappear after they’re opened.

To use the feature, one needs to tap on the microphone icon to start recording a voice message.

Then swipe up to lock the recording, look for the "view once" icon, tap it to activate the disappearing message feature then send your voice message as usual.

With that, the recipient will only be able to listen to the message once before it vanishes from the chat.

This new feature is set out to help its users to control their privacy.
